Limited user CD burning limitation

The CD burning capability is disabled by default in a limited user setting. T allow the limited user to burn CDs, follow these steps

 

Windows XP Home

  1. Access REGEDIT (The page will open in a separate window)

  2. Double-click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

  3. Double-click on Software

  4. Double-click on Microsoft

  5. Double-click on Windows NT

  6. Double-click on CurrentVersion

  7. Click on Winlogon

  8. On the right pane, Double-click on AllocateDASD

  9. Set the value to 2

 

Windows XP Professional

  1. Go to Control Panel (Link will open in a separate window)

  2. Double-click on Administrative Tools

   

  1. Double-click on Local Security Policy

   

  1. Double-click Local Policies

   

  1. Highlight Security Options

   

  1. On the right pane, double-click on Devices: allowed to format and eject

   

  1. Select Administrators and Interactive Users on the drop down menu

   

  1. Click on Apply

   

  1. Click on OK
