Burton, Betty Jane, age 73, of Lebanon, TN, died January 11, 2017.
Betty was a member of Generations of Grace Church. She was a
graduate of Madison High School and was a retired Customer Service
Representative for TDS. Betty was the daughter of the late, Charles
Lesley Murdock and Eleanor Louise Reed Smithson. She was also
preceded in death by Thurston Lee Smithson, who raised her after her
father’s death. Betty was the wife of the late, Gary E. Burton, Sr.
She was also preceded in death by, Sterling K. “Stan” Barrett, the
father of her daughters, Dottie and Kim.
She is survived by:
Children – Dottie (John) Brown, Kim (Gary) Barrett, Gary (Shelly)
Burton, Jr.,
Adam (Terrel) Burton and Angelia Burton
Siblings – Judy, Vicki, Teresa and Timmy
Grandchildren – Madison (Andrew) Lopez, Courtney Burton, Rachel
Burton,
Joseph Heaton, Blake (Jessica) Stewart, Lee
(Cassie) Stewart
and Brittney (Taz) Weese
Great-grandchildren – Isaiah, Jayce, Braelee, Konner, Carter, Aiden
and Noah

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, January 14,
2017 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kathy Tack officiating.
Interment will follow at Green Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be
John Brown, Blake Stewart, Lee Stewart, Joey Heaton, Gary Burton,
Jr. and Taz Weese. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Goodall, Clyde
Lee and fellow retirees of TDS.
Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 1400
Donelson Pike, Suite B5, Nashville, TN 37217.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to service
time Saturday at Bond Memorial Chapel, N. Mt. Juliet Road and Weston
