Earl Wayne Ashworth of Waynesboro, TN was born October 19, 1951 in
Nashville, TN, the son of the late Edward Raymond Ashworth and
Mattie Coleman Lanius Ashworth. He was united in marriage to Delores
Flippo on March 29, 1991.
Mr. Ashworth was a truck driver and had lived in Madison, TN before
moving to Waynesboro, TN.
Mr. Ashworth departed this life on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Maury
Regional Medical Centerin Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 64
Years, 6 Months, 10 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Flippo Ashworth of Waynesboro,
TN; sons, Chris Ashworth and wife, Tina of Gallatin, TN, Steven
Ashworth of Hendersonville, TN; a daughter, Brianna Ashworth of
Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Megan, Savannah, Kaci and Kathryn
Ashworth; great-grandchild, Dustin Ashworth; brothers, Ray Ashworth
and wife, Faye of Greenbrier, TN and John Ashworth and wife, Brenda
of Hendersonville, TN; sisters, Martha Jackson and husband, Joe and
Pat White all of Hendersonville, TN and Sue Overstreet and husband,
Freddy of Portland, TN; mother-in-law, Ella Ruth Flippo of
Waynesboro, TN and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ashworth was preceded in death by a
son, Ryan Paul Ashworth; a grandchild, Jennifer Fisher; a sister,
Sarah Mae Ashworth; brother-in-law, Harold White and father-in-law,
W. C. Flippo.
Services will be Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Shackelford
Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Larry Janes
officiating. Burial will be at 3 pm in the Hendersonville Memorial
Gardens at Hendersonville, Tennessee. Pallbearers will be Johnny
Ashworth, Jason Ashworth, Chris Ashworth, Bobby Comer, Cleveland
Flippo and Wayne Hicks. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher
Flippo and Johnathon Ashworth.
Visitation will be Friday, May 6, 2016 from 6 pm to 9 pm and
Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 8 am until service time at the funeral
