Internal
- Size

    - Type of drives are laptop and SSD drive
    - More expensive than 3.5
  - 3.5
    - Mainly used for Desktops and servers.

  - IDE (becoming obsolete)

  - 2.5
    - Regular 2.5 drives are cheaper than SSD drives but SSD is faster
  - 3.5
    - Cheaper than 2.5 drives
  - Cheaper than external
- Storage
  - 3.5
    - Up to 6 terabytes (this limit is always changing and may be different by the time you are reading this)
  - 2.5 SSD
    - Up to 1 Terabyte (this limit is always changing and may be different by the time you are reading this
External
- Same as internal but the device is connected externally to the system by a connector
- Connector
  - USB
- Cost
  - May be more expensive than internal
Desktop
- Usually uses internal drives mentioned above
- However they can use external drives as well

Laptop
- Uses 2.5 size drives
- Can use regular 2.5 hard drives or SSD drives.
- Can use internal or external
- Connectors

USB

For external connections
Can be used on Desktops, servers, laptops or anything that accepts USB and hard drives
Storage
- Up to 6 Terabyte (this limit is always changing and may be different by the time you are reading this)
Cost
- Can be more expensive then internal
